Difference makers: JT Daniels shines in second half of USC’s victory over Washington State

The junior college transfer receiver has become one of Gardner Minshew’s most reliable targets through his first four college games and was a crucial safety net for the QB during Friday’s game. Winston hauled in a 28-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter – his third reception of the drive – and he was on the end of a 4-yarder in the fourth.

WSU’s first-year starting quarterback didn’t make many mistakes in his first Pac-12 road game and finished 37 of 52 through the air with 344 yards and three touchdowns. Minshew was only sacked once and he didn’t throw an interception for the second consecutive game.

After a few rocky games against Stanford and Texas, USC’s true freshman quarterback was able to click with his receivers against WSU. Daniels threw one touchdown in the first half and followed with two more in the second to finish his second career start at the Coliseum 17-of-26 passing for 241 yards and three touchdowns.
