Lewis is knowledgeable, qualified

A very well-attended forum of candidates for the 6th Legislative District of Washington was held at Hargreaves Hall in Cheney on October 3. Five candidates attended, while one prepared a short video.

Clearly, one candidate for the open Senate seat was simply outstanding: Jessa Lewis. She was able to relate well with the audience and expressed in-depth knowledge of the issues, especially health care. In fact, after the first few rounds of questions, I could hardly wait to hear her thoughtful responses. Jessa listens and responds to questions, which is a really unique quality – she didn’t give pat answers or talking points to questions.

Though younger than her opponent, she is strikingly well-qualified and has had many life experiences, including knowledge of the workings of the state legislature. It would be wonderful if everyone in our district had the opportunity to meet her and have a discussion of their concerns. I know she has been canvassing extensively in our district and hasn’t sat back hoping campaign signs and mailers will get her elected.

I will happily vote for Jessa Lewis. She will represent my positions and stand up for people in our district, and improve the lives of Eastern Washington citizens.
