Prep volleyball: Shelby Draper had 14 kills, Cheney eliminated Clarkston in District 7 2A Tournament

Shelby Draper had 14 kills and fourth-seeded Cheney eliminated third-seeded Clarkston in four sets (25-20, 24-26, 25-19, 25-16) in a district first-round clash.

Cheney advances to play East Valley on Saturday at noon at Pullman HS.

East Valley 3, West Valley 0: Kiara Brandvold had 11 kills and the second-seeded Knights beat the fifth-seeded Eagles in straight sets (25-19, 25-22, 25-21) in a District 7 2A first-round match.

District 7 1A

Freeman 3, Medical Lake 0: Ashley Boswell notched nine kills and the top-seeded Scotties swept the fifth-seeded Cardinals in straight sets (25-10, 25-8, 25-12) in a district semifinal at Freeman HS.

Freeman will face Lakeside for the district title on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Freeman HS.

In a first-round match, Megan Goertz had 30 assists and fifth-seeded Medical Lake beat fourth-seeded Newport in three sets (25-17, 26-24, 25-20).

Lakeside (WA) 3, Colville 0: Mia Smith had 12 kills with five blocks and the second-seeded Eagles swept the third-seeded Indians in straight sets (25-15, 25-5, 25-17) in a district semifinal at Lakeside HS.

In a first-round match, Hallie Cox accumulated 15 digs and third-seeded Colville eliminated sixth-seeded Deer Park in three sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-21) in a district semifinal at Lakeside HS.

District 7 2B

Northwest Christian 3, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 0: Paige Dawson had 13 kills with seven digs and the North Division champ Crusaders swept the South No. 4 seed Broncos in straight sets (25-20, 25-11, 25-15) a district first-round clash at Reardan HS.

Northwest Christian faces Liberty on Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at St. George’s HS.

In a district play-in match, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague eliminated Springdale in three sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-20) at Reardan HS.

Liberty 3, Wilbur-Creston 0: Maisie Burnham had 13 kills and the North No. 2 Lancers swept the South No. 3 Wildcats in straight sets (25-15, 25-16, 25-21) in a district first-round match at Reardan HS.

In a loser out match, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague knocked out Wilbur-Creston in three sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-12).

Colfax 3, Davenport 0: Kierstyn York notched 12 kills and the South champion Bulldogs swept the North No. 4 Gorillas in straight sets (25-17, 25-7, 25-14) in a district first-round match at Davenport HS.

Colfax advances to play Asotin on Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at St. George’s HS.

Asotin 3, Chewelah 0: Adrienne Washington had 15 digs with nine kills and the South No. 3 Panthers swept the North No. 2 Cougars in three sets (25-23, 26-24, 25-17) in a district first-round battle at Davenport HS.

In a loser out match, Kylene Edwards had seven assists with six digs and visiting Chewelah swept Davenport (25-15, 25-10, 25-19).
