Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Ty Smith named co-captains for Spokane Chiefs
After starting their seasons on NHL ice, Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Ty Smith are ready to lead the Spokane Chiefs toward another Western Hockey League playoff run.
The two were named Spokane’s co-captains on Tuesday, the team announced. It’s the first time the Chiefs have had co-captains.
Anderson-Dolan is expected to make his first appearance of the season for Spokane on Friday when the Chiefs return home to take on the Portland Winterhawks. He began the season with the Los Angeles Kings.
With the Kings, Anderson-Dolan appeared in five games and picked up one assist. He was reassigned to Spokane on Monday.
Smith, the No. 17 overall pick in this year’s NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils, was reassigned to Spokane on Sept. 28.
In his 10 games back with the Chiefs, Smith has tallied 16 points (two goals and 14 assists), including a nine-game point streak that ended Saturday against Canadian Hockey League top-ranked Prince Albert.
