Turn away from negativity

Today I glanced at and read part of the Opinions page as I usually do. Sometimes the letters and op-ed pieces make me angry, so I make phone calls and put out yard signs and make donations. But anger does not make me or anyone else feel good about anything.

From the evangelical people using political tactics to candidates running negative and untrue ads to the current Supreme Court nominee lying to a Senate committee to the president of our wonderful country mocking everyone and everything which does not advance his agenda to the once-ethical and caring Republican Party ignoring the people who elected them in order to stay in power. Daily negativity needs to go away.

So, dear Fellow Readers, I propose that to start to repair the division of our country and to work toward civility and the restoration of cooperation to help everyone is to clear the way by voting for people who express a willingness to compromise. I am voting for every Democrat and for every positive initiative that will help the most people; to vote with a positive and hopeful attitude and to turn away from negativity.
