Why I oppose I-1631
Let me back up a bit. I am a retired senior citizen and when the state passed the increase in the minimum wage it made my food costs go up about 7 percent — in fact my day to day living expenses went up as a result. On a fixed income, I had to make some choices. For instance, I can no longer afford going out to breakfast on Sundays like I used to and the rare times I can afford to go out I cannot leave a tip.
The same thing will happen with I-1631: my food costs will go up, the cost of gas will go up at least 14 cents a gallon, the cost of electricity will go up, etc.
As a senior citizen on a fixed income I feel as if the liberals are making war on old people. Please vote no.
