GSL basketball: Rogers boys, girls swept by Coeur d’Alene
Kale Edwards scored 19 points and visiting Coeur d’Alene (1-1) topped Rogers (1-1) in a nonleague contest on Thursday.
Carter Friesz added 11 points for the Vikings, which jumped out to a 20-12 lead after the first quarter, then pulled away with a 25-9 run in the third.
Evan Nomee and Ethan Kaesemeyer scored 12 points apiece to lead the Pirates.
Rogers faces Post Falls on Friday.
Girls
Coeur d’Alene 66, Rogers 19: Kelly Horning scored 16 points and the Vikings (1-2) routed the Pirates (0-2).
Tori Younger added 13 points for Coeur d’Alene, which led 17-8 after the first quarter, then put up 29 points in the second.
Ziona Combs led the Pirates with seven points.
Rogers hosts Shadle Park in a GSL 3A league opener on Tuesday.
