Pedestrian dies in hospital after being struck by car
A pedestrian died in the hospital Friday after being hit by a car in the vicinity of the 2600 block of 29th Avenue, according to a Spokane Police Department news release.
Police said the driver was cooperating, and alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor, according to the release.
The vehicle was headed eastbound when it struck a pedestrian, who was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision. The road was closed for several hours.
The crash is under investigation. Police are asking anyone who witnessed to the crash to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
