Reardan bank robbery suspect arrested 12 hours later, 15 miles away at Airway Heights casino

Police didn’t need to look far for a suspected Reardan bank robber.
Hours after an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the U.S. Bank in the small town along U.S. Highway 2, the suspected robber by the name of Bernard E. Mallory was arrested at Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Airway Heights – a 15-minute drive to the east.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that Mallory became the subject of Airway Heights police interest after a “male Caucasian” with “large amounts of cash” was spotted gambling. After positively identifying Mallory, partly based on distinct neck and arm tattoos visible on the bank’s surveillance cameras, probable cause was generated to arrest Mallory under suspicion of first-degree robbery.
He was booked into Lincoln County Jail early Wednesday morning. He’s being held on a $300,000 bond.
No injuries were reported in the robbery.
