French disgustingly predictable

Al French making disparaging remarks about his opponent (“Commissioner race takes contentious turn,” Oct. 23, 2018) is as disgusting as it is predictable. Al’s MO is why he can’t win a primary commissioner’s race in his own district: he can’t fool the folks who have seen him up close and personal for all these years.

French has a long history of dirty tricks, back-door deals and unethical politics. Al will do whatever it takes to win — nothing is beneath him. I was the beneficiary of his manufactured vicious lies spread via e-mail and illegal anonymous signs (“Emails, signs, accuse Mager falsely,” Oct. 29, 2010).

This year, he is again using hate-filled tactics and inflammatory messaging — disingenuously couched in question form — in order to feign deniability while disseminating dog whistles to those he counts on to vote their prejudices instead of the candidates’ merits.

Do not be duped by Al the Artful Dodger, but look at his record: wasting taxpayer money, contempt for the law and his ambition to annex Spokane Valley before its incorporation.

Our community deserves better.
