Prep girls soccer: Amber Hickman’s 60th-minute goal lifts Mt. Spokane to state tournament

Amber Hickman scored the go-ahead goal in the 60th minute and Mt. Spokane (9-9-1) eliminated Shadle Park (5-12-1) with a 1-0 victory in the District 8 3A second-place game at Albi Stadium.

Mt. Spokane advances to the State tournament at Shorewood High School.

University fell 4-1 to Richland in a loser-out game.

East Valley 4, Ephrata 2: Kaitlin Harvey’s hat trick powered the Knights (13-3-1) over the visiting Tigers (14-4-0) in a GNL/CWAC 2A crossover contest.

Ellensburg 3, Cheney 2: Gabby Nguyen scored a goal and added an assist, but the visiting Blackhawks (11-8) lost to the Bulldogs (9-1) in overtime in a GNL/CWAC 2A crossover.

Lakeside (WA) cruised to a 5-0 victory over Cascade (Leavenworth) in a NEA-CTL crossover.

Freeman 1, Cashmere 0: Hannah Pylant made 15 saves and the visiting Scotties (13-6-0) eliminated the Bulldogs (11-6-0) in a NEA-CTL crossover.
