Inconsistent cultural respect

I was struck by the inconsistency of the appeal by Gonzaga University to respect Cinco de Mayo and not culturally appropriate the tradition. I would point out that the cultural appropriation of St. Patrick’s Day has long been celebrated by many non-Irish people. I doubt if most people know the accurate history of St. Patrick’s Day. Will GU recommend not wearing green on March 17?
