Zach Norvell Jr. promises return to Gonzaga; Rui Hachimura, Killian Tillie yet to think about future

LOS ANGELES – At different points of the 2018 postseason, three separate Gonzaga underclassmen played themselves into NBA Draft conversations.

One of those promised at least one more college season for the Bulldogs. The other two, fresh off a 75-60 loss to Florida State in the Sweet Sixteen, said they haven’t turned their attention to next season and intend to make a decision in the coming weeks.

Zach Norvell Jr., an NCAA Tournament sensation for Gonzaga who scored 57 points in three games, wants another taste of the Big Dance and said he’ll return for his sophomore season.

“I’m back, I’m back,” guaranteed Norvell Jr.

Sophomore forward Rui Hachimura, a breakout star for the Bulldogs who earned First Team All-WCC honors after leading the team with 12.9 points per game in conference play, hasn’t decided whether he’ll test NBA waters or declare for the June NBA Draft.

“I don’t know yet, I haven’t talked about it yet,” said Hachimura, who noted when the time comes he’ll make the decision with GU’s coaches. “Mostly coaches, yeah.”

Junior forward Killian Tillie perhaps turned a few heads of professional scouts during the WCC Tournament, when he scored 72 points in a three-game span and made 13 of 14 3-point attempts.

“I don’t know yet,” Tillie said of his future. “I’ll think about it with my family.”
