State 1B roundup: Maguire Isaak’s last-second shot lifts Almira/Coulee-Hartline into title game

Boys

Tacoma Baptist 49, Cedar Park Christian 47: Bradley Swillie knocked down six 3-pointers en route to an 18-point, 10-rebound day for the winning Crusaders.

Tacoma Baptist hit 11 3s on 32 attempts. Cedar Park Christian hit five 3-pointers on 23 attempts.

Jaide St. Lewis led CPC with 19 points, all from inside the arc. No other Lion reached double digits.

Lions forward Erwin Weary had a tough day, going only 3 for 11 from the field.

The Crusaders used strong second and third quarters to extend their lead, scoring 34 of their 49 total in the middle frames.

Tacoma Baptist advances to play sixth-seeded Odessa in the game for fourth and sixth places today at 8 a.m.

Odessa 71, Muckleshoot Tribal 61: When Odessa needed a bucket, Ryan Moffet often was the one to sink the big shot. Muckleshoot Tribal hung around all game, nipping at Odessa’s heels and getting chippy along the way. MT committed two intentional fouls and was called for two technical fouls.

Moffet was the free-throw shooter on two of those occasions, finishing 8 of 10.

River Allen led the Kings with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting as his team shot 42 percent from the field. Kobe Courville added 14 points with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

All five Odessa starters scored in double figures.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 63, Selkirk 29: A competitive first quarter turned into a blowout by the final buzzer.

The Warriors outscored the Rangers by 31 points over the final three quarters to coast into the semifinals.

ACH was led by Sarah Bradshaw and Makenna Oliver, who scored 14 points apiece.

Selkirk was subdued on offense as its leading scorer was junior Whitney Dawson with nine points.

A more telling stat: ACH held the Rangers without a field goal in the second half.

Mt. Vernon Christian 35, Entiat 19: Mount Vernon Christian cruised to a win despite shooting 28 percent from the floor.

Josie Droog was the Hurricanes’ leading scorer with 10 points, but she went 1 for 9 from the floor. Eight of her points came from the free-throw line.

Entiat shot 16 percent from the floor.

Its leading scorer was Natalya Paz with 10 points.
