The stabbing victim told deputies that Kenneth J. Derr, 40, struck him on the head with a 2-foot-long pair of hedge trimmers and stabbed him in the arm in with a knife, according to a news release. Detectives said that during the attack, Kerr told the victim he wanted him to kill him. He also has said he wants to take his own life by provoking police into shooting him, detectives said.
