Hiawatha Trail celebrates two decades

The Hiawatha Trail, a popular North Idaho bike trail, will celebrate its 20th anniversary Friday and Saturday.

Friday in Wallace, there will be drinks and a panel discussion about the making of the trail and what will happen in the next 20 years.

Saturday at 10 a.m., there will be a anniversary ceremony at the East Portal trailhead. Attendees can then ride the 15-mile trail, which is all downhill thanks to a shuttle service. Saturday evening, there will be a parade through Wallace and a presentation and film about the making of the Milwaukee Railroad.
