Four nominated for McDonald’s All-American girls team
Post Falls senior Melody Kempton, who signed with Gonzaga for next season, was nominated for the McDonald’s All-American girls high school basketball team on Tuesday, according to the Post Falls HS Twitter account.
Kempton has led the Trojans to a 10-1 overall record and 2-0 start in the 5A Inland Empire League standings.
Central Valley seniors and Stanford commits Lacie and Lexie Hull were also nominated for the team Tuesday, according to the school’s Twitter account.
The 6-foot-2 twin sisters have led the Bears to a perfect 6-0 start in Greater Spokane League play, and 10-0 overall.
Last year as a junior, Kempton led Post Falls to a 21-4 record. She was the 5A Inland Empire League Player of the Year for the third straight year after averaging 15 points and 8.2 rebounds. She also shot 60 percent from the field.
Kempton showed her versatility with 3.2 steals, 2.3 assists and 2.1 blocks per game last year.
Grace Kirscher, a 6-foot guard from Sandpoint, was also nominated for the team. Kirscher has signed with Eastern Washington to play basketball.
