Gonzaga’s Johnathan Williams nominated for Senior CLASS Award

MALIBU, California – Gonzaga forward Johnathan Williams is one of 30 men’s basketball players nominated for the Senior CLASS Award.

Williams recently completed his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He will begin GU’s Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program next semester.

There are 30 male and 30 female student-athletes nominated for their respective Senior CLASS Awards. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School. The award focuses on a senior player’s contributions on and off the court.

Williams, a Memphis, Tenn., native, has volunteered at a number of community service events, including the N7/Coeur d’Alene Tribe basketball clinic, Spokane Boys and Girls Club, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center and Camp Goodtimes. He has also made numerous visits to local elementary schools.

Williams is averaging 13.6 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game. He’s on watch lists for the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award.

In February, the list of 30 will be cut to 10 finalists. Gonzaga’s Przemek Karnowski was on the Senior CLASS All-American team in 2017.
