Gymnastics regionals: Zella Conley helps Mead wins title

Zella Conley placed or shared first in every event and led Mead to the championship at the 4A regional gymnastics championship at University HS on Saturday.

Mead earned the honor to compete at state as a team.

Jessica Harpel of Ferris took second place in uneven bars, balance beam and vault and was second all-around while Anna Johnson of University placed third. Both qualified for state in all-around.

Pam Styborski of University tied for first place in floor and also qualified for state in beam and vault.

Central Valley’s Rebekah Ross finished third in bars and qualified for state in bars, beam and floor exercise.

Victoria Axtell took third in beam and vault and also qualified for state in floor.

Other state qualifiers: Chloe Robbins, CV (bars, beam and floor); Autumn Gallagher, U-Hi (bars, beam and floor); Stacey McNeeley, U-Hi (bars and vault); Kendall Watson, U-Hi (bars); Justine Jordan, U-Hi (floor); Chloe McQuesten, Lewis and Clark (vault); and Rian Baggot, CV (vault).
