We’re becoming Seattle

As we approach another election for a new mayor and council president it appears there a few people running for office who want Spokane to become more like Seattle – and that should make residents of this great city very concerned.

Ben Stuckart for mayor and Breean Beggs for City Council president, and you have Kate Burke already on the council and a few others. Spokane’s South Hill already is a mini Seattle.

Spokane is getting more and more residents from the left side of this state. They leave the left side to get away for many reasons. The few I have met left because of the very liberal views on how government controls their lives in King County and want what we still have for now.

Our current council votes in ordinances that cannot or will not be enforced. They change the verbiage in ordinances to try and get around laws. A pig is a pig no matter how you dress it. Feel-good laws don’t work.

What’s next, this great city will try to become a sanctuary city if you allow it. Yes you, as you have the power to vote. Beware as a tiger never changes its stripes, and do not believe what these officials say on how much they love our city and way of life we have. They will try to change it to how they want and not what we want.
