This upside down world

I’m still trying to adjust to our new, upside down world. I’ve been told for years by Republicans that running a deficit is bad. Now, after the recent tax cuts, it’s good … because red ink as far as the eye can see is OK if you do it, not the other guy.

The scream of “Lock her up!” for using a private server, still resonates in my ear. But it seems to be alright for a presidential advisor and daughter to use one. Disgraced former EPA director Scott Pruitt is guilty too.

I believe it’s nonpartisan to love clean water and breathe in fresh air. But the president seems to be doing his darned best to not protect it. Do we or don’t we care? Why buy bottled water if we don’t?

Bragging and lying were pretty bad things around my house, necessitating a stern rebuke from my parents. But apparently, it’s acceptable as long as you are able to nominate a Supreme Court judge once in a while.

Our morals seem to be schizophrenic. Don’t continue to demand more and better from the other political party. Just act on what you believe, and demand it from your own party.
