Girls basketball: Sydney McLean’s 20 points helps Freeman defeat West Valley

Sydney McLean scored 20 points and Freeman (7-2) defeated visiting West Valley (5-3) 62-48 on Thursday in a nonleague game.

Nevaeh Sherwood led West Valley with 13 points, while Anna Chisholm scored 15 points for Freeman.

Clarkston 71, Moscow 24: Ashlyn Wallace scored 25 points and the Bantams (7-0) beat the visiting Bears (4-6). Megan Jung led Moscow with nine points.

Kettle Falls 49, Springdale 23: Zarah Johnson scored 13 points and the Bulldogs (5-4) defeated the Chargers (2-7).

Deer Park 48, Reardan 35: Havelah Fairbanks scored 13 points and the visiting Stags (6-2) beat the Indians (3-3). Kimberly Dewey and Ayden Krupke led Reardan with nine points apiece.

Wilbur-Creston 46, Columbia 12: Mackenzie Arden scored 11 points and the Wildcats (4-4) beat the visiting Lions (0-7). Lexi Nelson led Columbia with 10 points.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 59, Omak 34: Gabi Isaac scored 24 points, Mimi Isaak scored 12 of her 16 points in the second half and the Warriors (5-0) pulled away from the visiting Pioneers (6-4). Makenna Oliver had nine steals for ACH. Payton Abrahamson led Omak with 14 points.

Northeast 1B North

Selkirk 70, Cusick 24: Jenna Couch scored 27 points and the Rangers (4-3, 3-2) defeated the Panthers (0-6, 0-4). Whitney Dawson added 23 points for Selkirk.

Idaho

Lake City 71, Post Falls 25: Brooklyn Rewers scored 17 points and the Timberwolves (8-2, 1-0) defeated the visiting Trojans (3-9, 0-1) in an Inland Empire 5A game. Bridgett Rieken and Dejah Wilson added 10 points apiece for Lake City.

Faith Lutheran (Nevada) 51, Genesis Prep 32: Taylor Etopio scored 13 points and the Crusaders (10-1) beat the Jaguars (3-5) at the Nike Tournament in Phoenix. Rachel Schroeder led Genesis Prep with 14 points and Bella Murekatete added 12.
