Gonzaga-UT Arlington key matchup: PG Brian Warren directs Mavericks’ offense

Junior guard Brian Warren leads UT Arlington in most offensive categories, including scoring (14.9 points per game), assists (3.3) and made field goals (48), 3-pointers (17) and free throws (38).

Eleven different Mavericks have started at least two games, but Warren is the only player to start every game. He also logs a team-high 29 minutes.

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Indianapolis native will try to use his speed to create for himself and teammates against 6-3, 190-pound GU counterpart Josh Perkins.

Warren had 19 points vs. Northern Iowa and 26 vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi early on, but he’s failed to connect on 50 percent of his shots in each of UTA’s last seven games. He’s shooting 38.7 percent for the season and 29.8 percent beyond the 3-point arc.
