Gonzaga’s Josh Perkins earns WCC player of the week honors
Gonzaga’s Josh Perkins was named the WCC player of the week after posting a double-double in a road victory over Creighton.
Perkins had 13 points and 13 assists – tied for second most in a single game in program history – in GU’s 103-92 win in Omaha. The senior point guard had 10 points and six assists in a rout over North Dakota State.
Perkins is No. 1 nationally with 69 assists and leads the WCC at 8.6 per game. He has committed just 17 turnovers in eight games.
Perkins moved past Kevin Pangos into fifth place with 547 assists on Gonzaga’s all-time list. He trails No. 4 John Stockton by seven.
