Symphony concert passes available through Spokane County Library District

Library patrons have always been able to check out music, either on CD or digitally, from the Spokane County Library District, but thanks to a donation from the Spokane Symphony, cardholders now also have to chance to check out live music.
Each of the 11 libraries in the district will have four Spokane Symphony concert passes available for check out for the following performances:
“Classics 1: The Bohemian Spirit,” on Sept. 9 at 3 p.m., features Washington native Charlie Albright performing Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3.
“Classics 3: The Heroic,” on Oct. 21 at 3 p.m., features pianist Alon Goldstein performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21.
“Classics 4: Sibelius and Brahms,” on Nov. 4 at 3 p.m., features Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg, the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo, performing Brahms’ Opus 25.
“The Spokane Symphony is excited to join the library pass program to increase the cultural offerings available to Library District cardholders,” Spokane Symphony Executive Director Jeff vom Saal said in a press release. “We hope it will encourage families to come downtown and experience a Sunday matinee of classical music performed by our orchestra.”
Each pass is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a pass, visit www.scld.org/reserve-symphony.
Cardholders can reserve passes two weeks before each performance. Passes must then be picked up from the library where they were reserved no later than the end of the day Thursday before the concert.
Eckart Preu will conduct all three concerts, and all performances are held at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, 1001 W. Sprague Ave.
