Idaho’s unemployment rate remains at 2.9 percent
Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged in July at 2.9 percent.
The rate continues an 11-month streak of 3 percent unemployment or less for the state, according to the Idaho Department of Labor.
The department said four industry sectors exceeded seasonal expectations – leisure and hospitality, manufacturing, government, and professional and business services – for a combined increase of 2,400 jobs. The gains were countered by a decrease of 800 jobs in six other non-farm sectors.
In Kootenai County, the July unemployment rate was 3.5 percent. The rate in other North Idaho counties was: Benewah, 4.2 percent; Bonner, 3.9 percent; Boundary, 4.5 percent; Shoshone, 6.7 percent.
