Border Patrol, Ferry County deputies rescue man shot while attempting to stop a suicide

U.S. Border Patrol agents and Ferry County Sheriff’s deputies teamed up to rescue two men involved in a shooting incident near Curlew on Monday.
Deputies were called to help a 36-year-old man who had been wounded while attempting to stop another man from committing suicide off Customs Road near Curlew around 1 p.m. When first responders arrived, the suicidal man had run away and was on top of a nearby cliff, threatening to jump, according to a Border Patrol news release.
An agent was able to approach the suicidal man from behind and detain him. He was brought down the hill on a stretcher. Both men were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
