Two men arrested for assaulting, stealing person’s prosthetic leg on Spokane’s South Hill

Two men were arrested Saturday afternoon for assaulting and robbing a person on Spokane’s South Hill, including stealing the victim’s prosthetic leg.

Spokane Police officers were called to the victim’s home in the 1800 block of West Eighth Avenue, where the resident told officers he was assaulted by two male suspects, Keoni Canton, 28, and Dale Johnson, 34, according to a police news release. The resident told officers several items were stolen during the assault, including a prosthetic leg.

The victim apparently knew the attackers and was able to provide information to police that helped them locate the suspects’ home in the 2400 block of East Bismark Avenue. There, officers took the two men into custody and sized a vehicle allegedly used in the crime.

Officers were not able to locate any of the stolen items.

Canton and Johnson are facing charges of first-degree robbery and burglary.

Anyone with information on the incident, or the location of the stolen items, is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
