Employee abducted at gunpoint from Cheney pot shop

An employee of a Cheney marijuana shop was reportedly abducted at gunpoint Sunday afternoon, according to the Cheney Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots at the Lucid Marijuana store, 1845 First Street, at approximately 12:45 p.m. Witnesses told them that a store employee had been abducted by a male suspect, Cheney police said in a news release. Two women also were involved in the incident.

The male had facial and neck tattoos and carried the weapon, police said. He was driving a gray 2008 Acura SUV with Washington plate BCV4296, used in the abduction. He is believed to be a resident of Yakima, and may be headed in that direction.

The victim is Cameron Smith, 46, police said.
