LEAVENWORTH, Wash. – A Chelan County man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of vehicular assault following a two-car crash.

Jesus Berdusco-Rincon, 37, was driving east on Highway 2 when the vehicle he was driving collided with an oncoming car at the entrance to Tumwater Canyon, said a Washington State Patrol report. Four persons were injured in the crash.

The collision around 4 p.m. Saturday involved a 1995 Nissan Sentra driven by Berdusco-Rincon and a 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by Stephen A. Chester, 30, of Wasilla, Alaska.

Both suffered injuries and were transferred to Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth.

Also injured were three passengers in Chester’s vehicle. They included Anne M. Bistram, 49, and Jason M. Moore, 38, both of Sultan; and Kelly M. Tatum, 36, of Wasilla, Alaska. All three were transported to Cascade Medical Center.

Conditions of the injured were not immediately available Monday.

According to a State Patrol report, Berdusco-Rincon’s vehicle was traveling east on Highway 2 when it crossed the center line and struck Chester’s car, headed west on Highway 2. The vehicles came to rest blocking traffic in both directions.

The crash closed the highway for over three hours as the State Patrol investigated the accident.
