Kim Weber and Danielle Jackson have been promoted from assurance senior associates to assurance managers at BDO USA LLP. Weber has been at BDO for six years and offers accounting services to clients in the financial services, manufacturing, natural resources and employee benefit areas. Jackson, a five-year employee at BDO, has served public and private clients in mining, manufacturing, hospitality and construction services.

Banking

Spokane Federal Credit Union and Progressions Credit Union have hired Laura Zahn as their new CFS registered representative. Zahn specializes in retirement and investments as well as working with clients who are single. She has 15 years experience, both at Edward Jones and in an independent practice.

Education

Kent Keller has been named director of Washington State University’s School of the Environment. Keller, a professor and fellow of the Geological Society of America, has been a researcher and teacher at WSU since 1988. Keller will oversee the environmental science, wildlife ecology, forestry and Earth science programs.

Lisette Waits has been awarded the Jean’ne M. Shreeve NSF EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) Research Excellence Award, given annually to a researcher from University of Idaho, Boise State University or Idaho State University. Waits, a University of Idaho distinguished professor, received the award for her internationally recognized research in molecular biology, which looks at molecular genetic methods for monitoring wildlife populations.

Health

Melissa Francik MS, RDN, CD, recently passed the inaugural national exam in health and wellness coaching, making her one of only 300 national board certified health and wellness coaches in America. Francik is a registered dietician nutritionist at Pullman Regional Hospital. .

Manufacturing

Luke Solly has been hired as project coordinator for the Underground Project Management Office at Wilbert Precast Inc.

Medicine

Cancer Care Northwest has announced the addition of Drs. Vijay Narendran and Dr. Jessemae Welsh to the practice. Narendran is a medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in head, neck and lung cancers as well as lymphoma and leukemia. Welsh is a breast surgical oncologist who is trained in the latest surgical techniques, treating all types of breast disease.

Moving

Chipman Moving & Storage Inc. has been recognized with the President’s Club Award for generating over $1 million in sales; the Performance Excellence Award, recognizeing those focused on customer needs and expectations; and the Customer Choice Award, which is based on exceptional scores on post-move surveys completed by customers. Chipman Moving & Storage is an agent of United Van Lines, which presented the awards.

Real Estate

Craven Company LLC has announced Mike Hart has joined the real estate development firm as a project manager. Hart previously worked as a coach for the basketball teams at Colorado College and Gonzaga University.
