VegNews spotlights Allie’s Vegan Pizzeria and Cafe

Allie’s Vegan Pizzeria and Cafe is featured in the current issue of VegNews magazine.

The vegan lifestyle magazine is read by more than 225,000 people in 38 countries. On pages 58 and 59 of the September/October issue, there’s a review of Allie’s – whose biscuit sandwich “gives McDonald’s a run for its money,” Jasmin Singer writes.

The Crabby Benedict is also mentioned, along with the Hot Mess pizza and Allie’s house-made smoked cashew cheese.

Allie’s opened last fall on the South Hill after its first location on North Nevada Street closed because of a fire. Allie’s is owned by vegan Atania Gilmore, who opened the restaurant in 2015. In 2014, she was one of seven national finalists for “Sexiest Vegan Over 50” from PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Read more about her and her eatery here.
