New app ItsOnMe allows people to buy dinner or drinks – or dinner and drinks – for each other

Think of it as an e-gift card for foodies.

ItsOnMe allows people to buy dinner or drinks – or dinner and drinks – for each other. Breakfast, too. Any menu item, really.

You don’t have to have an ItsOnMe account to receive an e-gift card. But you must open an account in order to send one. It’s free to sign up.

And Spokane is one of the few cities on board so far.

At this point, participating local restaurants include Casper Fry, Bruncheonette, Backyard Public House, Clover, Durkin’s Liquor Bar, Prohibition Gastropub, Remedy Kitchen and Taphouse, Republic Kitchen and Taphouse, Gilded Unicorn, Boiler Room, The Yards Bruncheon, Wandering Table, Volstead Act, Steady Flow Growler House and Forty-One South.

These venues join restaurants in Denver, Houston, Austin, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York and San Francisco that are also partnering with the new app.

Through ItsOnMe – headquartered in Las Vegas with satellite offices in Seattle, Los Angeles and New York – customers can buy gift vouchers for $10, $25 and $50. Some establishments are also set up to allow people to buy particular menu items. Want a friend to try the tamale waffle at Bruncheonette, for example? You can buy that item through the app – maybe throw in a mimosa or bacon bloody mary – and your friend will receive an email with information on how to redeem the gift.

The e-gift cards don’t expire. And, just like regular gift cards, you can re-gift them. There’s even a “re-gift” button to click on.
