Two dead in I-90 crash in Couer d’Alene

Two people were killed in car crash along Interstate 90 in Coeur d’Alene.

The crash happened at 11:05 a.m. in a construction zone between Sherman Avenue at Exit 15 and Mullan Road at Exit 17.

The Idaho State Patrol reported that Travis Clay, 41, of Coeur d’Alene had been driving west on the highway and then crossed in the eastbound lanes. His blue pickup struck a car driven by Patricia Mahoney, 75, of Coeur d’Alene.

Both drivers died at the scene.

After Clay’s truck struck Mahoney’s car, it then crashed into a truck driven by 26-year-old Jon Hagaman, of Smelterville. Hagaman was not injure, according to the ISP.

Everyone involved in the collisions were wearing seatbelts.

The interstate was closed for about four hours Monday afternoon.
