Police arrest Starbuds Cannabis robbery suspect
Spokane police have arrested the man suspected of shooting a clerk and robbing Starbuds Cannabis Tuesday evening.
Just before 10 p.m. Tuesday a man wearing dark clothing entered the Starbuds Cannabis shop, located at 827 E. Francis, and held two employees at gunpoint. The suspect fired at least one round, hitting one of the employees and causing a non-life threatening injury.
Police arrived at the store a short time later, but a subsequent search of the vicinity, including a K9 track, failed to locate the suspect. The shooting victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Thursday morning a neighborhood resource officer located a vehicle of interest in the robbery and contacted the person inside the vehicle. A Major Crimes detective arrived at the scene, interviewed James Jordan, 42, and developed probable cause for his arrest.
Jordan was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a First Degree Robbery charge, but police said more charges may be expected.
Police also executed a search warrant on an apartment to recover evidence.
