Rathdrum man arrested for 21st time in Kootenai County after standoff
A lengthy standoff with Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies and a SWAT team ended Friday morning in Rathdrum when Dustin Hieronymus, 36, was arrested inside the home.
Hieronymus, who has been arrested 20 times in Kootenai County, had a probation violation warrant stemming from an aggravated assault charge and refused to comply with authorities, according to the Sheriff’s office.
About 9:50 a.m, deputies responded to a residence on North Idaho Road near state Highway 53 after getting a tip that Hieronymus was inside.
When deputies arrived, another person in the house left and told deputies Hieronymus was inside. After the long standoff, the Sheriff’s office said, the SWAT team went into the house and made the arrest.
