Woman gets 12 years in fatal wrong-way crash on interstate
Carrah Goble, the woman who drove drunk the wrong way on Interstate 90 in Spokane and caused a five-car crash that killed a man and injured others, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Goble received the sentence Friday in Spokane County Superior Court.
The Spokane-area woman pleaded guilty in August to vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and two counts of felony hit and run stemming from the October 2015 crash. She was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes near Division Street.
Ronald L. Morrison, 39, was ejected from his vehicle and sustained head injuries. He died later at a hospital.
Goble fled the scene but was found at a convenience store.
Gobel posted bail in April 2016, and earlier this year she was accused of tampering with her alcohol bracelet.
She was arrested without incident at her home in Cheney.
She avoided jail time after her public defender successfully argued the bracelet simply could have malfunctioned.
