Spread the risk, simplify

Nobody with certain conditions or of certain age should pay more for health insurance. Everybody, young, old, rich, poor, healthy or sick needs to be in the insurance pool. This is the only way the risk will be spread around. Single-payer health insurance does this. Many people in this country are afraid of single-payer, yet in all those other countries, nobody goes bankrupt because of health issues.

In this country, most people who suffer health care related financial hardships actually have health insurance. The other myth about single-payer is that it is free. In most countries it is not free, but it is much more reasonably priced than our for-profit-only system. Single-payer health insurance makes health care issues a lot easier to deal with, for the people who use it, and also for doctor offices and businesses.

Right now medical offices spend a huge proportion of time and money to sort out all the different policies and the various attempts by so many insurance companies to deny payment for services. This is insane. We need to strive to simplify and make health care better for everyone.
