Mariners Noon Number: 11
The Seattle Mariners sent 11 batters to the plate in a seven-run seventh inning to beat the Texas Rangers on Saturday night.
The seven runs was a season-high for one inning and took the pressure off young Chase De Yong, who was tremendous through six innings. The righty gave up just one run, and it came on Joey Gallo’s 10th home run of the season. Other than that, four hits and no walk with three strikeouts.
There were plenty of offensive highlights.
Jean Segura raised his average to .357 after 3 for 5 night with two runs. Guillermo Heredia in the two-hole went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI. Kyle Seager had two hits, though he also stranded six. Taylor Motter had an RBI double among his two hits and Ben Gamel had two hits in one inning and drove in a pair.
