Coeur d’Alene school district announces plan for hiring new superintendent
The Coeur d’Alene School Board of Trustees hopes to name an interim superintendent by June 30, according to a news release.
The board announced Monday that Trina Caudle, the director of secondary education, will be the acting superintendent until June 30. She is filling the spot left vacant by outgoing Superintendent Matt Handelman last week.
Later this week the board will start accepting applications for the position. The interim superintendent will be hired on a one-year contract, and will not be allowed to apply for the full position of superintendent.
During the fall the district will start a nationwide search to find a permanent replacement, according to a news release. The board hopes for the permanent superintendent to start “on or about” July 1, 2018.
