Sushi Sakai opens third location

Sushi Sakai has opened in downtown Spokane.

This is the third location for the family-run restaurant, which now occupies a space on the first floor of the Lincoln Plaza Building. The location last housed a MacKenzie River Pizza.

The new restaurant offers both Korean and Japanese food, including sushi. After a soft launch Mother’s Day weekend, Sushi Sakai held a grand opening event June 1.

Jae Jeon is the owner and head chef.

The new Sushi Sakai is at 818 W. Riverside Ave. It’s open from lunch through late night, and has takeout as well as a whiskey bar.

Its other two locations are on Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley and Boone Avenue near Gonzaga University. On Facebook: www.facebook.com/SushiSakaiSpokane/.
