OnlyInYourState.com has named Kennewick to a list of 10 charming waterfront towns in Washington that are daytrip-worthy.

The May 28 posting does not include what criteria it used to select its charmers. It highlights some of the more picturesque spots along the state’s coastline and riverfronts.

Commentors were quick to challenge the list, noting it ignores classic destinations such as Gig Harbor, Friday Harbor and Lake Chelan.

Kennewick came in at the No. 5 spot with the authors noting that Kennewick’s historic downtown area is undergoing a revival and correctly notes that Columbia Park offers “plenty” of riverfront land to enjoy.

From best to last, the list includes: Port Townsend, La Conner, Ocean Shores, Stevenson, Kennewick, Olympia, Anacortes, Blaine, Belfair and Langley.
