Cannons lose but stay alive in American Legion tournament

The Spokane Cannons lost 6-1 to the Vancouver Cardinals on Sunday in the American Legion State AAA baseball tournament but are the only Spokane-area team to survive the first two days.

The Cardinals built a 5-0 lead before the Cannons scored their run in the sixth inning. The Cannons play Lower Columbia at 1 p.m. on Monday at Jackson Field.

Spokane teams eliminated on Sunday were Gonzaga Prep, Shadle Shockers and Mt. Spokane.
