Area girls: Nina Carlson scores 17 points and Lake City girls upend Lewiston

Nina Carlson tossed in 17 points and Lauren Rewers and Bridget Rieken scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, to power Lake City (16-4, 4-2) to a 56-42 victory over visiting Lewiston (13-6, 3-3) in 5A Inland Empire League play.

Lewiston returns to Lake City in a 5A Region I opener on Friday. Also on Friday, league champ Post Falls (17-2, 5-1) entertains Coeur d’Alene (7-10, 0-6). Both games start at 7 p.m.
