Gonzaga sells ‘last unbeaten’ shirts
Gonzaga introduced a new shirt at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday night to celebrate its perfect Zags before taking on the Portland Pilots.
The navy blue shirt features GU’s Bulldogs logo and “nation’s last unbeaten” printed above “Gonzaga basketball” in red and white colors.
It’s the first time this season that the school has sold an “undefeated” shirt.
Gonzaga was 18-0, the best start in school history, ahead of its game against Portland.
GU became the last NCAA Division I team with a perfect record after Baylor lost for the first time on Jan. 10 to West Virginia.
The booth that sells Gonzaga apparel inside the arena on the southwest side brought 200 of the new shirts and sold a little more than half before tipoff. GU is selling the shirts for $10 apiece.
