Gonzaga out to make it 7 straight over Portland

Gonzaga looks to earn their 19th win of the season, and remain unbeaten in the 164th game against the Portland Pilots.

The Bulldogs have won six straight against the Pilots, since falling 82-73 on Jan. 9, 2014, at Portland.

Portland was outsted from the WCC tournament, 92-67, by Gonzaga last year. Eric McClellan scored a season-high 26 points and Domantas Sabonis added 24 points. Silas Melson also scored 15 for the Zags.

Last year in Spokane, Gonzaga defeated the Pilots 85-74 on Jan. 9, 2016. Kyle Wiltjer had 32 points and Domantas Sabonis scored 28 points to lead the Zags.

Head coach Mark Few is 33-2 against the Pilots.

Portland won the first matchup by a score of 70-66 on January 18, 1959.

Gonzaga lead the all-time series, 97-66.
