Spokane police officer involved in deadly Sunday shooting identified
The Spokane police officer involved in Sunday’s shooting of Dexter Martin Dumarce has been identified as Cpl. Ryan Jamieson.
Jamieson has been with the department since 2008 and serves as a defensive tactics instructor and range safety officer.
Dumarce was stopped near Ninth Avenue and Adams Street because he was acting suspicious. He pulled a knife and ran, according to police. He was chased by several officers, some of whom attempted to use a Taser on Dumarce but were unsuccessful. Jamieson shot Dumarce four times near Fifth Avenue and Walnut Street as he ran toward cars stopped at a red light, police said.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is heading up the investigation into the shooting.
