Area boys: Hunter Pickard helps Moscow beat Prairie in nonleague matchup

Hunter Pickard and Gabe Quinnett scored 10 points apiece and Moscow (2-3) beat visiting Prairie (6-2) 44-29 in a nonleague game on Thursday.

Tied at 26 after three quarters, Moscow outscored Prairie 18-3 in the fourth. The Bears limited the Pirates to six points total in the second half.

Wallace 75, Mullan 25: Erik Brackenbusch scored 22 points and the Miners (6-2, 3-0) trounced the the visiting Tigers (0-5, 0-3) in a North Star League matchup.

Hunter Gust scored 16 points, Matt Farkas had 13 and Zack Welch added 12 for Wallace, which led 27-7 after the first quarter.

Genesis Prep 82, Bonners Ferry 41: Jonny Hillman and Stephane Manzi scored 21 points apiece and the visiting Jaguars (5-3) beat the Badgers (3-4) in a nonleague game.

Genesis Prep went 27 of 34 form the field. Junior Williams had 11 points and Jake Shelton added 10.

Kaleb Stockton led Bonners Ferry with 15 points.

Orofino 43, Salmon River 42: Garrison Bretz scored 20 points to lead the the visiting Maniacs (5-2) over the Savages (3-4) in a nonleague game.

Brandton Chatfield added 15 for Orofino, which used an 18-8 fourth quarter run to earn the win.
