Brian Dunn, head football coach the last 20 years at Lakeside (Nine Mile) has resigned.

Dunn, 57, coached Lakeside to a league title in the Northeast A and the Great Northern League. His teams were 102-96 with six state playoff appearances.

“It was just time,” said Dunn, who will continue teaching at least three more years. “My wife and I decided before the season that 20 was a nice round number.”

Before arriving at Lakeside, Dunn was a head coach for five years at Naches Valley and one at Waterville.

“I wanted to go out on a good note and not with an angry mob chasing me,” Dunn said. “Coaching anymore is 24/7, 365 days a year. My wife and I want do a few things in the summer.”

Lakeside has hired Dunn’s replacement. Devin Bauer, the Eagles’ defensive coordinator the last four years and a Lakeside graduate, takes over.
