SAN DIEGO – Something has to give.

Among Gonzaga basketball’s numerous noteworthy feats, the Zags’ road work ranks high on the list.

They’ve won 12 straight road games, longest in the nation. They went 9-0 last season – all in WCC games – to become the only team in the nation to post an unbeaten road record.

Gonzaga’s road success faces a significant test Thursday night against San Diego State at Viejas Arena, one of the toughest road venues in the nation. The Aztecs have a 87.4 winning percentage (173-25) at home since 2006.

Gonzaga has been the best in the country in road/neutral games (74.9 percent) since 2006. GU is tops nationally at 77.7 percent in road games since 2008.

The Zags cruised past Washington 97-70 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion on Dec. 10 in their first road contest of the season. Their last road loss came against SMU, which knocked off GU 69-60 in Dallas in Feb. 2016.
